The combination of a Seiko automatic movement, a black dial and a stainless steel case is hard to resist. Model reference 6119-7080.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1973.
CONDITION
We think this watch would have left Japan with a bracelet, which has been lost along the way. The reference site for Seiko 5 models show a the model 6119-7080 also without a bracelet, so it could be that they are commonly lost. However, the cushion case looks good on the 18mm leather strap we have fitted. That case is solid stainless steel and does have some surface marks as we have not polished the case. The crown is recessed at 4, and that is because this movement can not be hand wound, so the case provides extra protection. By pressing the crown inwards you do advance the date , and the day wheel is in English and French. The 21 jewel movement is running nicely and keeping good time. The crosshair dial is very clean, and more accurately a very dark grey rather than black. We have polished the crystal to remove most marks.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
