A rare Omega Geneve tank model in an oversized case.  Never seen another!   Model reference 111.0116.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1973.

CONDITION

As shown in the photos. This watch takes a lot of wrist space and is immediately noticeable.  But it isn’t uncomfortable, partly due to the light weight and the very thin case.  The dial is a walnut brown, and reflects light in a nice manner.  The oversized hour markers are applied and certainly eye catching.  The case is 20 micron gold plated and has stood up well over the years.  The crystal is the original, with the Ω symbol in the centre.  The movement is an Omega caliber 625, which is time only and small allowing the designer free range with the case design.  It is working well.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred (but brown is best!).

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
