The Jeux d’Argent range used silver cases and bracelets, and were designed by Andrew Grima. Model reference RS711.1903.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number hallmark on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1973. However the paperwork, including the original receipt, shows it was sold in August 1977. Either year is valid for a birth year watch. Please note the serial number on the papers shows the serial number 37967464, but the actual serial number is one digit different 37967404. This looks to be human error in writing down the serial number, as all the other digits match.
CONDITION
Andrew Grima was a top notch jeweller in the 1960’s, and the Jeux d’Argent range was one of his most successful lines for Omega. The designs were never vanilla, and the choice to work in silver was partly down to the massive spike in gold prices during the seventies. This chain link bracelet is a clever design, and the clasp is clever too – we point out why in the video. Being silver it will show some tarnishing on the hard to reach areas, which gives it extra depth. That can be cleaned off at home easily if preferred, but it would take years to return so we have left it. The blue dial has a few spots on it, and the crystal does have some small marks. The Omega 17 jewel manual wind movement is their calibre 625, which is running nicely. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers, original receipt and our Certificate of Authenticity. The hinges on the Omega box are completely broken, as shown on the video.
Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
