A nice C cased 1972 Tissot Seastar, this time with the manual wind movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the Tissot 2461 movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1972.
CONDITION
The advantage of a manual wind movement is it allows a slimmer profile for the case. While that may not be important in a divers watch, in a dress watch like this the thin case slips under a cuff easier. The gold plated case has a couple of small marks on the crown side, but shows very little wear otherwise. The movement winds and sets easily, with a semi quick set date (by rotating the hands backward and forward near midnight). The long leather strap is new. The dial does have small amounts of spotting that is visible via a loupe, and a strange series of dots coming down from the date window. They are not immediately noticeable, but we like to point out faults where we can.
This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
