This Seiko automatic watch has a 36mm stainless steel case and a wonderful dial and hand set. Model reference 7005-2000
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1972.
CONDITION
Seiko vintage watches are not, on the whole, rare. This is a combination of great popularity at the time, and the choice of good materials meaning many survive. But while the chronographs, divers and Grand Quartz watches are now approaching four figures in some cases, the dress watches are more accessible. This watch has a great dial, and it wears larger than 36mm as it is all dial with a very slender bezel. On very, very close inspection there is a small dent on the dial between 1 and 2. The dauphine hands are particularly nice. The 7005A auto only movement can not be hand wound, but does have quick set date so it is easy to wear in rotation with other watches. The leather strap is new and is a Seiko branded item, but it is not the original one from 1972. There is a spec of dust on some of the photos near twelve, which we have removed and have taken close up photos to show that.
