HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied sales paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being sold in May 1972. This information is also consistent with other things we know, such as the styling and movement production dates.
CONDITION
There is nothing exceptional about this watch, but that doesn’t stop it being a good watch. Having the darker, textured dial is a bonus of course, and still having the box and papers is also desirable. Condition is good all over. The case was made by Rotary’s sister company, Sylvian Dreyfuss, and it is stamped SD on the inside of the case back. The movement Rotary chose was the 17 jewel manual wind AS1900, which is running nicely. The dark grey dial is clean and not the usual silver dial you will find easily. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
