A solid gold Omega Geneve, in fabulous condition, and complete with inner and outer boxes. Model reference 331.2541.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we know this was made in 1970. The hall mark on the inside of the case back shows it was assayed in 1972, and the watch can not have been completed before that date.
CONDITION
When buying any watch with an integrated gold bracelet you should ask yourself two things. The first is is it large enough – a bit too large is not a problem as a jeweller can adjust it for you (and you can pay with the scrap gold!), but too small is an issue – and people in the seventies were generally smaller than today so it is not uncommon. The second question is what condition is the bracelet in. Many have twists, or edges with snags, or both. This watch has a long bracelet with signed ladder clasp, and the edges of the bracelet have this protective banding to prevent snagging and twisting – it is the best design of integrated gold bracelet we have ever seen. Inside the gold case is an Omega calibre 601 hand winding movement, which is all working well. We have fitted a new acrylic crystal after the photos were taken too. The lined dial is clean barring a few tiny spots that look worse on the photo than in real life. This is an excellent example of a gold Omega.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
