The Deauville was originally designed to be a unisex watch, which is strange considering the dimensions are decidedly manly. Model reference 155.0007
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1972.
CONDITION
There is not a lot of information on this model of Deauville, but more on the leather strap version with the reference 155.0005. For a Unisex watch a leather strap would make more sense, as a bracelet like this would need tools to adjust it if you were swapping between the sexes. So we believe this model was just considered a man’s watch.
Inside the keyed compressor style case is the automatic Omega calibre 684, a 24 jewel movement that runs at 21,600bph. Both case and acrylic glass are signed with the Omega logo, as is the clasp on the 1207/207 bracelet. The condition of the case and bracelet is very good, with just slight swirlies and no significant marks. The case is long, at nearly 50mm, but angled to fit around the wrist and wears comfortably. The blue dial is very good, and the original white hands make this watch easy to read. Most information on the Deauville say they were made between 1973 and 1975, so this is a very early one. The rectangular crystal version like this is far more desirable than the curved crystal as shown in the photos from an Omega reference book we own.
