HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this to being made in 1971, but the case has London hallmarks for 1972, so the movement would have been shipped to England to Omega’s case making partners DS&S and cased in 1972.
CONDITION
Ladies Omega watches are not rare – they were premium watches when new, so they have often been very well cared for. Gold ladies Omega watches are not especially rare either – everyone knew they would be a valuable asset. But white gold ladies Omega watches are harder to find – only half of one percent of all Omega on Chrono24 are white gold. This means they can carry a premium over the yellow gold watches. This watch was made in 1972, and this was timely – gold values leapt up in the 1970’s. This is a small cocktail watch, and is in good condition. The case and bracelet is made by DS&S, a very well respected company, and is hallmarked on the signed clasp. The glass is the original, with the Ω logo etched in the centre if you look carefully. The box hinges no longer snap shut, but it is still good to have the box. Inside the case is a manual wind calibre 485 movement, which is working well. The dial is a very nice silver, in clean condition and with a slight sparkle to it. As with any integrated bracelet watch please do check your wrist size, as extending the bracelet is an expensive process.
