This 1972 ladies Certina cocktail watch is in wonderful original condition.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1972.
CONDITION
The seventeen jewel in house Certina 13-22 manual wind movement is working well and is a thing of real quality. Not long after 1972 when cheaper quartz watches were just taking off few manufacturers could make their own movements as nicely finished as this, as cost reductions were driving down quality. The chromed case is good, the dial clean and easy to read. The crown is signed with the Certina logo. The stainless steel expanding bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and could be swapped for a leather strap if preferred. The acrylic crystal has been polished to remove small scratches. Certina is an overlooked brand in the UK, but thankfully our customers in Europe appreciate the brand a lot more.
