This 1972 Bulova Accutron has a ‘Buckley’ type dial and a slightly oval case.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1972.
CONDITION
This is an unusual design for an Accutron, and the printed dial has quite some appeal. The hands are lumed, but the dial not, and the roman numerals and spaced writing is not something we have seen before. The calibre 2180 movement is all working perfectly, and has a new battery fitted. The bracelet is a Speidel stainless steel one and is not original to the watch, but the jubilee style bracelet works and adds to the ‘Buckley dial’ aesthetics. (Buckley dials are found on Rolex Datejusts, and are nicknamed after a big watch collector John Buckley who championed them). The three piece stainless steel case is all in good order, with a few tool marks on the back.
