Made for measuring heart rates, this fully serviced Seiko Pulsemeter has a flyback chronograph function and a pulse scale to read off. Model reference 7017-8000.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1971.
CONDITION
This watch has a complex calibre 7017A movement, with day and date that can both be quick set as well as a 60 second fly back chronograph built in. It is automatic wind only, and therefore has a flush fitting crown. You quick set the day by pushing the flush crown inwards, and can chose between Kanji or English. The date can also be quickset, but this time you pull the crown out one position and turn it to get to the date you want – very useful if you have several watches and wear them in rotation. The orange hand is for the chronograph, timing one minute and ideal for anyone who had to take people’s heart rate. The flyback part means you can reset and start the chronograph in one press of the bottom button. This complex watch has just had a full service to ensure it is working perfectly, and we have the photo of the watch mid service to show everything was checked, cleaned and lubricated correctly before being rebuilt. The seals on the pushers and on the crown stem were also replaced. The dial is all original and in good condition, with just the lume of the chrono hand showing some aging. The bracelet is a later, non Seiko part but looks the part. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, and movement.
