A high spec 1971 ladies watch, with calendar and automatic hi beat movement, this Seiko even has the original full length bracelet. Model reference 2205-0200.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in September 1971.
CONDITION
The majority of ladies vintage watches are very simple, often manual winding and just two hands. But what if you wanted more? Many manufacturers just didn’t do much for ladies watches, but Seiko went to town on this model. You have a high beat, 28,800 automatic movement with 21 jewels. The movement also has a calendar, with quick set date. You even get a seconds hand – a simple thing but many ladies watches don’t have it. The case is all stainless steel, with screw down case back to help water resistance. The unusually wide bezel does have many marks, but that also shows it hasn’t been polished – the original graining is still visible. The dial is clean and the acrylic glass free from major marks. The bracelet is made by Stelux for Seiko, and can be set to various different lengths without extra links – the sliding clasp just needs moving down the bracelet. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
