A later Eterna-Matic Centenaire with a 9k gold case housing their in-house automatic movement.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the London hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1971.

CONDITION

Unsurprisingly the Centenaire models first came of Eterna’s Centenary in 1956, but it became a popular model and the Centenaire ’61 was launch, then the ’61 part was dropped, and then the model became one of the upper end watches in Eterna’s range.  Inside the 9k gold case is Eternas own calibre 1438K automatic movement, which is working well.  This movement has quick set date, operated by pulling the crown outwards for each date you want to advance.  The dial is not perfect, with some spotting and dirt, but it is still very presentable.  The oxblood red leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
