This 1971 Citizen Leopard has the stainless steel parawater case and the 24 jewel automatic movement. Model reference 4-760085-K.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in September 1971.
CONDITION
The Leopard models were launched in 1969, and only ran for a few years but nevertheless had up to twenty variations of case and movement. All were automatic, and some had the 77xx calibres that beat at 36,000 bph. This one has the 7210 calibre which is still high beat, but a more normal (at least for today) 28,800 bph – that is 8 ticks per second, allowing for a very smooth seconds hand ‘sweep’. The watch has quick set date and hacks for precision time setting. The day is in English only and can not be quick set. The case is what is called C-Case, with the thick lugs associated with the Omega Constellation of the time. The case is probably refinished, and the curved glass is good. The dial has just light patina, and the skeleton hands are straight. The strap is new and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred – we show a very alternative choice in the video! The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and crown.
