A solid gold watch from London jeweler Winegarten – ideal for anyone who likes wine and gardens!

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the very feint hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in Birmingham in 1970.

CONDITION

Winegarten were London jewelers who, like Garrard and other good jewelers commissioned watches to be made for them, with their name on the dial.  We have this watch with a receipt from the same jeweler from 1942, which is a nice piece of added history.  The movement is an ETA 2391, 17 jewel and signed for Winegarten on a nicely striped bridge.   Having movements personalised was a classy touch – with a solid gold case back the customer would not probably see the insides of the watch.  The crown is also signed W, so it is clear that Winegarten were not just making the cheapest watch they could.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
