HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1970.
CONDITION
Compressor watches are just cool! Rather than have a bezel on the outside of the watch, where it can get knocked, the bezel is under the crystal and adjusted via the crown at 2. This means we have a very large watch for the time, with a case diameter of 44mm, but that suits today’s watch wearer far more. The crown at 4 is used to set the time, manually wind the movement if wanted and to set the semi quickset date. The stainless steel case is in good shape, with no dings or damage. Similarly the dial and hands are excellent, with the royal blue on the dial repeated on the seconds hand. But they used red to designate the T12 part of the dial, which is an extra process and just shows they didn’t cut corners. Inside is the Tissot calibre 784-2, a 21 jewel automatic movement that is running well. The leather strap is new, and good quality.
