HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1970.
CONDITION
The PR516 is always a popular choice, still providing value for money for a Swiss automatic steel sports watch. The calibre 794 movement, automatically wound with day date calendar and 21 jewels, has just been fully serviced so is running sweetly. The bracelet is a good length, which is important on any bracelet like this that is linked to the case, and this has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The clasp is original and still has some of the black paint on around the ‘T’ logo – this might look better being removed. The scrylic crystal has been polished, but a few small marks remain. The dial is good, but under a loupe you can see some light crazing – this is not visible to the naked eye. The hands are excellent, and provide a great contrast against the deep blue dial. The hour markers appear to float above the hands, so the minute hand passes underneath the marker. The add a real 3D element to the design.
