A good example of a manual wind three hander from Seiko. Model reference 66-9990.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1970.
CONDITION
Finding a vintage Seiko is pretty easy. They were well made and have lasted well, and sold in very good numbers. But finding a vintage Seiko in this original condition is becoming harder. Most of the model range during this time were automatic models, but Seiko automatics do have a drawback – they can not be handwound, so unless you are active you are never quite sure how much power you have left. This manual wind watch does away with that issue, and is a couple of mm thinner than the autos too. The case is all stainless steel, and is in good condition with just a few small marks. The case wears larger than the dimension suggest, as the bezel in the front loading case is very thin. The dial is remarkable for the age, with barely any mark. The 66B 17 jewel movement is working well and the plexiglass crystal is new. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred – with silver dial in stainless steel cases you can pretty much fit any colour strap you can find.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
