This men’s Longines 9k gold watch is still on the original strap and buckle.  Fantastic condition.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the long service engraving on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being presented in 1970.  That matches the London hallmark inside the case back too

CONDITION

Saved for best is the likely use this watch has had since 1970.  On the original strap the watch looks much like the day that Mr W. Stewart was given the watch for 21 years service at Daks-Simpson Ltd, the high end clothing store in Piccadilly and holder of three Royal warrants.  The inside of the case back also reveals the case was made by DS&S for Baume – David Shackman and Sons made 9k gold cases for many top swiss brands, and Baume were the official importer for Longines, so everything makes sense there.  The manual wind movement is Longines calibre 370, which is running well.  The dial is perfect, with applied numbers and winged logo.  About the only thing we could fault is the original strap is beginning to come apart, but we could fit a replacement leather strap but send the original with the package if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
