This Citizen Parawater clearly takes some inspiration in the case design from the Omega Dynamic, but with more conventional lugs.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in August 1970.
CONDITION
With the launch of the Omega Dynamic and the Hamilton Fontainebleau lots of other manufacturers made more adventurous watch cases than just round or square. Maybe this is doing them a disservice, as this was also the same time period as the World went space crazy, following the moon landings, so it was natural that objects with an overtone of UFO would be popular.
The silver dial is very clean, and that is shown off by the new acrylic crystal to maximum effect. The applied hour markers give an almost holographic effect in certain lights, which we have captured in the photographs. The date is in red, and can be quick set. Neither the dial nor the hands are lumed. The movement can be hand wound or run via the automatic rotor. The screw down stainless steel case and the original bracelet have been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, so this watch is ready to wear.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
