This men’s manual wind Accurist Shockmaster watch has likely spent most of its life in the original box.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the sale paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being sold in June 1970.
CONDITION
It is always nice to find a 50+ year old watch with box and papers. The paperwork may be very fragile, and the box not perfect, but they are valuable additions that help tell the story of the watch. Not everything is original though – The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. We have also replaced the acrylic crystal that had fractures around the edge, Everything else is it left Switzerland though. The 21 jewel movement, an ETA 2391, has shock protection on the balance (hence Shockmaster) and is all running well. The dial is excellent and not refinished. The case plating is only really showing wear around the crown. The watch winds, sets and runs sweetly. While modern Accurist watches have gone to the cheaper end of the market, this was and remains a good watch.
