The original Bell-Matic model, with the rare brown dial, this will get the Seiko collectors excited.  Model reference 4006-7000

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1969 in the Suwa Seiko factory.

CONDITION

The Bell-Matic range was first launched in 1966, in Japan only, before being made available to the rest of the World.  The first model launched was this 4006-7000, but this is the only brown dial version we can find.  The word rare is often overused in vintage watch adverts, especially with Seiko watches, but this might justify the term.  The Bell-Matic was near the top end of the Seiko range, just under the Pogue (The Pogue chronogrpah was $95, the Bell-Matic in steel $89.50 or gold plate at $100 according to the 1969 advert we have found and shared here).

This example has been worn so shows small marks to the case, but that special dial is very good, the movement including the quick set date is working as it should, and this is shown in the video, including hearing the alarm.  The leather strap is new and a great colour match to the dial, but it could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
