This Roamer Mustang Rotodate is all in good order, and has probably lived most of its life in the original box. Model reference 471.1230.601
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
This movement was launched in late 1966, so the watch can not pre date this. This Mustang case style first appears in the 1969 catalogues, but by 1970 the rare lume Promethium had been switched to Tritium. At this dial has the letters Pm after Swiss Made, this watch has to have been made in 1969.
CONDITION
Watches in original boxes are always desirable. Given that this watch still has its original signed crystal after 50 years means this watch has had an easy life. The 20 micron gold plated case also shows no real wear, and the dial is near perfect. The signed crown is hidden away at 4, which while it does make the watch more comfortable to wear it also makes it a little fiddly to set the time and date (the date has the semi quickset method of midnight-21:00-midnight). The in house 28 jewel MST 471 works beautifully in all aspects. The dial is a bronze colour, and exceptionally clean.
