HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1969.
CONDITION
As a watch collector you could just collect Omega Dynamic models and have a large collection. 24 different dial colour combinations, different movements, different case designs and the choice of 12 different strap colours means it is unusual to see two the same. This model is the manual wind, no date model and has the solid blue dial instead of the bullseye designs. These first generation Dynamic models has a deep starburst pattern on the top of the case called radial adoucissage, and it does make it easy to spot over polished or heavily worn watches as that patterning is smooth – not on this watch. There are some marks to the case, including a scratch on the case back, but it is original. The case on these watches is a monobloc design, accessed via special tool 107 (referenced on the case back) or a good claw grabber. The screw down ring on the case back is purely to hold the strap in place. These cases were made for Omega by Fontana in Italy. The leather strap is new, and has the original buckle with built in keeper fitted to it.
