With the prized calibre 565 automatic movement, this 1969 Omega Geneve is likely to be a popular addition. Model reference 162.0010
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1969. According to Omega’s own website the model was launched in 1968.
CONDITION
The calibre 565 is a bit of a special movement – every watchmaker I know has had or has one. They were used in some legendary models such as the SM300, Dynamic and Banana (see more here). Many more ‘standard’ watches have been stripped for their movements to put in these more valuable watches, which is a shame. The cushion case is all stainless steel and is in a good condition. The crystal is signed with the Ω symbol in the centre and is free from major scratches. The crown is also signed Ω. The dial has some fading around the outside, and a dent between 11 and 12. The hands are straight and good. The crown is also used to quick set the date, by pulling it out further than hand set. This is all working perfectly. The red leather strap is new, but could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The neutral colours of the dial and case mean you can have any colour strap you can find.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
