HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1969.
CONDITION
The movement inside this was was also fitted to Constellations, Dynamics, Seamasters, Cosmic and De Ville models – you can see a fairly comprehensive list on Omega’s website here. But the Geneve is still the cheapest route to own a calibre 565. You can tell a 565 from the unusual pull crown to quick set the date feature, and when you see the movement photo you will see the copper finish is match by things like swan neck fine adjustment on the regulator. These 24 jewel movements are peaches, and are sometimes called the watchmakers favourite because of their quality. The case on this example is 20 micron gold plated, and the plating is wearing from the lug tips. The signed crown looks a slightly richer gold colour, so we suspect that has been changed in the past. The dial has just a couple of very small marks, and all the lume pips are in place. The acrylic glass is signed with the Ω symbol. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
