HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1969.
CONDITION
In 1969 ladies had the choice of two different oval Omega watches. The Dynamic Geneve was one, with a sportier look and the De Ville here was the dressier one. The oval case on this model De Ville is a little larger than the ‘standard’ round cases that ladies cocktail watches of this period often have. It is coated with 20 microns of gold plate, which has held up well, and the stainless steel case back clips in very nicely. Inside you have Omega’s calibre 620, a 17 jewel manual wind movement that is all working well and will never need a new battery so will always be ready to wear, even if infrequently. But you can happily wear this daily too. The dial is a gold linen pattern and very clear. Both crown and crystal are signed with Omega’s logo. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
