This International Watch Company (IWC) dress watch has the much prized calibre 89 movement inside the stainless steel case.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the original movement we can accurately date this watch to being produced in 1969.
The Calibre 89 movement is running well – for more on the history of this fine movement, please look here. It is one of the very few manual wind time only movements that collectors feel is important enough to need to own. The stainless case has a few light scratches but nothing serious The angles on the lugs are still crisp, an indication it has never been polished. It is quite eye catching having the gold hour markers, hands and crystal ring against a predominantly silver looking watch, but it works. The dial is clean, albeit with a couple of tiny marks between 10 and 11. Signed on the dial, movement, case back and crown (IWC use a fish on the crown for their waterproof cases).
This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
