HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1969.
EDIT – Following solid information supplied by a watchfan, including translated Japanese brochures we previously hadn’t seen, this watch is confirmed as from 1959.
CONDITION
The Deluxe part of the name on this Citizen doesn’t come from the use of precious metals, or in the number of complications the movement has, but instead it stems from doing the basics very well. The manual wind movement has 19 jewels, and is triple shocked protected too using Citizen’s Parashock system. It was even adjusted to three positions when new, something you just wouldn’t get on modern watches until you spend thousands. The stainless steel case is good, and the original dial has a few marks but is overall clean. Please ignore a small bit of dirt on the outside of the crystal in some photos, which was removed before the video was filmed. The case back has all the engravings, but they are very light. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.
