HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in January 1969.
CONDITION
The Crystal Seven was Citizen’s answer to the Seiko 5. So you get a calendar with day and date, a stainless steel case, and automatic winding. Unlike the Seiko, you can hand wind the Citizen and this is a feature many people prefer. You can also quick set the date, but not the day, which is in English. The space race was influencing design all over the World, and you can see the effect in watches. Another factor may have been the success of the Omega Geneve Dynamic, and it’s oval case. The case has a few marks, but the case back is excellent and this makes us think the highly polished case may be how it left the factory. The model has the split day and date, on opposing sides of the dial, and red hour markers. That colourway has been picked out by the red strap we have fitted, but you could have a different colour if you preferred.
