This Omega Constellation, model number 368.045, features the chronometer rated 24 jewel Calibre 751 with day date function.  Omega at their peak.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1969.  The case back is engraved for ten years service between 1965 and 1975, so it is likely that the watch was first sold and then presented in 1975.  Either 1969 or 1975 could be considered valid as a birth year watch.

CONDITION

The watch is wearing well.  There is evidence of the watch being worn on the case, which could be polished out, but we prefer to keep the watch original.  This was a premium product in Omega’s range, so as well as the top end movement you also have a solid link bracelet with screw in links, and this is of a good size too.  The links nearest the watch case have the typical marks in them from where they hit the case.  The day wheel in is Spanish, which fits with the name Oscar Flores engraved on the case back.  The quickset date, operated by pulling the crown out repeatedly, works well, though the day wheel doesn’t turn over until five am.  We will try and get this rectified.  The dial has just a few small marks but is not repainted.  The crown is original, as is the 1153.138 bracelet.

This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and Certificate of Authenticity.
