This Tissot Seastar T12 proves that a decent Swiss watch need not cause you to remortgage the house.  Model reference 44558-1.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.

CONDITION

This watch has one of the best brown dials we have experienced, and for many that will be reason enough to buy this.  But the rest of the watch isn’t bad either!  The gold plated case has some wear to the edges, but not horrendous.  However the original signed crown has lost the gold capping.  The case back looks for all the world like it is a Longines Flagship caseback, but it is stamped for Tissot inside so is original to the watch.  The watch is called T12 as it was guaranteed water resistant to 120 m, so T12 stands for Tissot 12 bar) The movement inside is the Tissot 794-2, which is not the finest finished movement ever to come out of Switzerland, but it is durable.  It has a semi quickset date, which is working correctly, and the watch is running well.  The armoured acrylic glass is new.  The leather strap is also new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
