This automatic winding Tissot T-12 Seastar has a rare combination of square case and chestnut brown dial.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the calibre 794 movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.

CONDITION

Square watches have corners, and corners tend to be knocked more than curves.  This watch is no different, with light wear on each of the case corners.  The case on this T-12 Seastar is unusual though – the case back is removed by sliding out retaining pins at the top and bottom (as pictured), and then you have to remove the movement from the case.  These clam shell type cases are not great if you want to take photos of the movement, but they do stop unexperienced people from tampering with anything!  The day wheel is only in French.  We have fitted a new 19mm strap to compliment that dial, which just has the smallest of marks.  You will see on the video how the dial switches from brown to ruby red.  Square watches do wear larger than round watches, so don’t let the dimensions fool you.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
