This men’s Geneve uses the calibre 565 – often regarded as one of Omega’s finest movements.  Model reference 166.041.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.  According to Omega’s own website, this reference was part of the 1968 International collection.

CONDITION

You could get a calibre 565 in many Seamaster models and it was also the basis of the chronometers in the Constellation range.  Both are more widely collected than the Geneve, but this means this is a cheaper way of getting the same movement.  It has quick set date, operated by pulling the original signed crown out an extra click.  The 24 jewel movement is a full rotor automatic. and it has swan neck fine adjustment.  The dial, with golden hour markers and hands, does have some marks and patina as shown in the pictures and video.  The buckle on this watch is also original, which is unusual to find.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
