This is one of the cleanest men’s vintage Omega Geneve watches we have ever seen. Model reference 131.0019
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.
CONDITION
This Geneve shows that if you do simple well, then it is perfect. When compared to the Mexico 68 Olympic Logo that is evident even more so (Omega were the official time keepers for those Games). The design is not distracted by things like date windows, leaving a near symmetrical look that is very clean. It is fitting that the dial is in superb condition too. The movement is Omega’s calibre 601, and these copper coloured movements are very desirable because of their quality and durability. The case is all stainless steel, and doesn’t appear to have ever been polished. The case back shows signs that the watch was once worn on a NATO style strap, but this is minor. The crown is signed too. The acrylic crystal is clean, and the green leather strap shown here is also new but can be swapped for a different colour or style to suit you. The neutral colours of this watch mean any colour strap would work well.
You can see more on the gold plated version of this watch on Omega’s own website here.
