This ladies Tissot cocktail watch is in a solid 9k gold case and features a manual winding 17 jewel movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement, and the London hallmark on the inside of the case back, we can date this watch to being both made and assayed in 1968.
CONDITION
The gold case is made by David Shackman and Son, and is stamped DS&S inside the case. In order to legally avoid punitive import duty on complete gold watches many Swiss companies would work with DS&S or Denisson, sending over the movements and dials and having them assembled in the UK. So Tissot would have made the calibre 709 movement, added the dial and hands and the DS&S would complete the job in England. The dial is clean with applied hour markers, and the watch winds nicely via the original signed crown. The case has various scratches and marks, which look far worse in the enlarged photos than in real life. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
