This Eterna-Matic 1000 has the all stainless steel case and is very original. A very versatile vintage watch.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.
CONDITION
When asked which brands are under valued when it comes to vintage watches the answer is currently Certina and Eterna. If you find a Longines or Omega with an in house movement, in a water proof stainless steel case, clean dial, all original down to the signed crown and even the original acrylic glass then you would be talking multiples of this price. This Eterna-Matic 1000 watch has the Eterna calibre 1479K, which has automatic winding and is running nicely. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. With a silver dial and stainless steel case you really can have any colour strap with this watch, and the drilled lugs do make swapping straps much easier. The bottom right lug does have a mark, otherwise the case is in good order like the rest of the watch.
