Wonderful watch! Has the full set – box, outer box, guarantee, instructions, guarantee for the expanding bracelet and even an unused Bulova kangaroo leather strap and buckle.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the caseback we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1967. The guarantee paperwork states it was sold in 1969. Either is a valid birth year watch date.
CONDITION
Brilliant. Not only is it complete with all papers and boxes, but even a spare unused strap with the Bulova buckle on it. On top of that, the condition is hard to fault. The case has a thick 40 micron gold plate – Omega used 20 micron gold plate, and the only other gold plated watch with 40 micron plating that we know about is this Rolex. Because the watch is all dial, it does actually wear larger than the size would suggest.
If Bulova have a museum, they would want this watch.
SIZE
35.8mm wide including the signed crown, 8.4mm thick. Takes an 18mm strap. The excaliber expanding bracelet will fit a maximum wrist size of approximately 190mm.
