The Admiral ★★★★★was towards the top end of the Longines range when this was made, and this steel one is nice.  Model reference 501.1000.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1967.

CONDITION

The Admiral model deserves the five stars on the dial.  This one has a monobloc case to aid water resistance, so the movement is accessed via the crystal.  The case back tells you to use a special tool, but a generic crystal lift works just as well.  The crown may have been replaced at some point, as it is not signed.   The Longines movement is nicely finished with polished bevels, and is all working well.  The date function is semi quick set, via the 24-20-24 method.  The dial has a few marks, but the applied hour markers have patterning machined on them to make them bounce the light off them nicely.  The case is unpolished, so will show some marks from being worn.  The blue leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  Pretty much every colour strap will work with the dial / case / hands combination.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
