HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1967.
CONDITION
Quite how watches like this exist and can still be found today is not easy to explain. In 1967 this would still have been a premium purchase, not to be taken lightly, but it has never been worn – the Tudor factory sticker is still on the case back. The lozenge shaped case and bracelet are in fantastic condition, with just a very light scratch to the top of the case visible. The dial has the tiniest of marks, difficult to see without magnification, and the hands and the acrylic crystal are excellent. The bracelet may never have even been sized – there are four screw in links on each side still. The seventeen jewel, manual wind movement is ETA based and running well. The watch is signed on the inside of the case back, the dial, the crown, the clasp and on the movement. This example is good enough to go directly into Tudor’s own collection or museum.
