HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can date this watch to being made in 1967. We originally put this watch earlier, but we mistakenly used the case number, not the movement number.
CONDITION
Jaeger-LeCoultre have always made high quality watches, and continue to do so. Frequently they supplied the base movements to some of the very best in the business, such as Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin, but this ladies watch contains their own calibre 407. This is a hand winding movement with 17 jewels, but the fact it is such a small movement and hidden behind the stainless steel case back did not mean that Jaeger-LeCoultre cut any corners. The bridges are decorated with Côtes de Genève stripes, the edges are beveled and there is also KIF antishock protection on the balance. Jaeger-LeCoultre customers would expect no less. The case is 20 micron gold plated, and in good shape. The glass has beveled edges and just the finest of scratches. The Speidel expanding bracelet is clean and we have shown the watch with a black leather strap too, which can be an option if requested at checkout. The dial is exceptionally clean for a watch from this period, and the crown is signed with the JL logo.
