A very good condition Certina New Art watch, fitted with a high quality in house movement.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1967.

CONDITION

The watch is in fabulous condition.  Upon very close inspection you can see the top corners on the case and the case back has the slightest of marks, but that is it.  The 20 micron gold plated case still has the starburst pattern on the bezel (New Art models were available with either 10 or 20 micron plated cases).  The hand winding in-house calibre 25-36 would be shown off in any current production watch with a glass exhibition back, but in the 60’s it was just assumed that you know it was there and the only person to actually see it would be your watchmaker.  The quality leather strap is very lightly used.  This would have been a mans watch when new, but the size could suit anyone (remember that square cased watches tend to wear a little larger than the dimension suggest – see this article that explains why.)

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
