This Bulova is an interesting watch. You have the famous Accutron electronic movement, and a cross over or bow tie stainless steel case. Plus a Accutron strap!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1967.
CONDITION
The case looks like two parts overlapping each other, with the hooded lugs making for a clever and smart design. The case also has a extra slight point at 3 and 9, which is easily missed but an extra added detail. The dial has a stripe that also runs across the centre, subtle but there. There is a few marks on the dial, but it is original and unrestored. The date at 3 can be quick set, and like the other Accutron models you don’t have to pull the crown out to do so. It is the original signed crown, with the tuning fork logo invented for the Accutron and still used by Bulova today. The movement is the 2181, an in house hummer movement providing such a smooth sweep seconds hand. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The lizard leather strap is like new, and branded for Accutron. The buckle is not branded.
