Certina are highly prized in Europe, but have a lower profile in the UK. This does mean they represent great value when compared to other brands of similar quality.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1966.
CONDITION
This watch has an in house Certina 17-25 17 jewel manually wound movement inside. To get a bespoke in house movement in a new watch then you are probably starting at £1,000, and this is one of the reasons that Certina is such a collectible brand. The watch is housed in a 20 micron gold plated case, and the tips of the lugs have worn as shown in the enlarged photographs, and the dial does have some patina near 3. The movement is working well, and we have cleaned the case and glass. We have also fitted a new leather strap, and we can swap this for a different colour if requested to do so. Boxes alone can be worth £40-50, and this one is in great condition and still has the original cardboard outer too.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, its cardboard outer box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
