The KonTiki range were Eterna’s sportier models, and were named after the KonTiki raft that sailed from South America to the Polynesian islands in 1947.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1966.

CONDITION

Lots of the KonTiki range are divers watches. and fetch thousands of pounds.  This is a simpler watch but is still more sporty than dressy thanks to the stainless steel case – think of this like a Rolex Explorer rather than a Submariner and you get the right idea.  The case is unpolished with a few marks and inside is the in house calibre 1408U movement.  This is keeping time, but the amplitude is low and will want a service if you are wearing the watch often – the watch is priced lower to allow you to pay for a service if you decide to have it done.  The dial is all original, as are the tritium hands.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
