A fine, original ladies Bulova that was made in 1966, and sold in 1967. Complete with box and papers.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the caseback we can accurately date this watch to a 1966 production date. However, the paperwork is dated for 1967, so either date could be considered valid for a birth year watch.
To find a watch of this age with all the boxes and paperwork is quite rare. The watch itself is running well but does have some wear to the 40 micron gold plate (this is quite a thick coating – Rolex use 40 micron gold plating, most manufacturers use 10-20 microns), and the dial has some dirt on it. However it is quite large for a watch of this period, which better suits modern tastes, and if the expanding bracelet isn’t for you then a leather strap could be fitted.
21.8mm wide including the crown, 7.0mm thick. Takes an 15mm strap. The bracelet will fit a maximum wrist size of approx’ 160mm.
