This very clean Tudor comes from a time where Rolex were still actively promoting it’s subsidiary company, with signed crown, strap, buckle and box.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the London hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1965.
CONDITION
Today there will be no references on Tudor watches to Rolex at all. But in 1965 they would list Tudor – by Rolex- Geneve on the inside of the box, and use their crown logo on the buckle and crown (the oyster steel cases were also shared on other models). This watch has a good quality Dennison case, which would have been to legally avoid import duty on completed watches. The movement is a 17 jewel manual wind item which is heavily based on the AS1506. This makes future servicing easier and with no need to send the watch back to Tudor. Overall the condition is excellent, and if you told us the watch had been worn only ten times we would believe you. The leather strap is signed Rolex and has the crown signed gold plated buckle. We can fit a new strap if preferred, including the original in the package, as the original strap could be weak from age. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, buckle and strap.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, no papers but our Certificate of Authenticity.
