This men’s Rotary gold watch has a quality Denisson case, and a 17 jewel manual winding movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the Birmingham hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1965.
CONDITION
The Denisson case here is easy to overlook, but important to the value of the watch. Not only the obvious gold value, but the quality. Most gold cases on watches like Accurist and Rotary were made to a lower budget, with possibly flat lugs and clip on case backs. Not here – solid lugs, drilled to make strap changes easier, and a screw on case back. Not only does this take longer to make, but it uses considerably more gold to do. This watch has never been engraved either, and while we do like an engraving ourselves not everyone does. The dial has patina all across it, and we have taken a photo of the dial outside of the case so this is clear to see. The movement is a 17 jewel AS 1795 time only calibre, which is a solid choice and it is working well. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The acrylic glass is also new.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
