HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1965. That also corresponds with the hallmark, showing it was assayed in London also in 1965.
CONDITION
Omega reference numbers are quite useful, particularly the first three digits (711 in this case). 7 indicates this left the factory as a lady’s bracelet watch, the next digit 1 means it was a manual wind movement without seconds hand, and the last 1 says it was in a non water resistant case. So when the watch is a lady’s bracelet watch, with a manual wind movement, in a non water resistant case, everything is exactly as it should be. The case was made or finished in Omega’s own factory, shown by the OWC mark inside the case back. The clasp is stamped for DS&S, hallmarked for 1965 also, so likely either bought by Omega or fitted in the UK to avoid the excessive import duties on complete watches during the Sixties. The movement is Omega’s calibre 620, a 17 jewel movement which was adjusted to two positions – that finish was unusual on ladies watches then. The bracelet is very long, which is important on any integrated bracelet, and has the Omega symbol on the safety flip lock. The dial has light patina but nothing serious, and everything is working well.

Bracelet will fit a maximum wrist size of 181 mm. The bracelet has a ladder clasp so can be worn about 8mm shorter, but if it is too long it can be sized for you by a local jeweller.
